چکیده

Earthquakes at depths of ≥300 km are generally called deep-focus earthquakes. Only two earthquakes with Mw 8.0 or more have occurred in this century—the 2013 Okhotsk earthquake (Mw 8.3) and the 2018 Fiji 8.2) on 19 August 2018. However, was only reported seismographs, related crustal deformations were not observed by Global Navigation Satellite System because observation network did exist around epicenter. This study analyzed time series gravity data Gravity Recovery And Climate Experiment (GRACE) its successor, GRACE Follow-On, detected spatial distribution coseismic changes mainly due to deformation earthquake. The results consistent numerical calculation when using fault parameters estimated seismic waves. Thus, calculations used construct a uniform slip rectangle model explain provide map deformation. is based changes; thus, new research combining satellite gravimetry wave will be necessary future.

Coseismic and postseismic deformation of the 2011 Tohoku-Oki earthquake constrained by GRACE gravimetry

[1] Spaceborne gravimetry data from the Gravity Recovery And Climate Experiment (GRACE) are processed using spatio-spectral Slepian localization analysis enabling the high-resolution detection of permanent gravity change associated with both coseismic and postseismic deformation resulting from the great 11 March 2011 Mw 9.0 TohokuOki earthquake. The GRACE observations are then used in a geophys...

Crustal dilatation observed by GRACE after the 2004 Sumatra-Andaman earthquake.

We report the detection of an earthquake by a space-based measurement. The Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellites observed a +/-15-microgalileo gravity change induced by the great December 2004 Sumatra-Andaman earthquake. Coseismic deformation produces sudden changes in the gravity field by vertical displacement of Earth's layered density structure and by changing the densit...

GRACE detects coseismic and postseismic deformation from the Sumatra-Andaman earthquake

[1] We show that spherical harmonic (SH) solutions of the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) are now of sufficient quality to observe effects of co-seismic and post-seismic deformation due to the rupture from the Mw = 9.3 Sumatra-Andaman earthquake on December 26, 2004, and its companion Nias earthquake (Mw = 8.7) on March 28, 2005. The improved GGM 03 SH (Level 2) solutions, and i...

Seasonal Mass Changes and Crustal Vertical Deformations Constrained by GPS and GRACE in Northeastern Tibet

Surface vertical deformation includes the Earth's elastic response to mass loading on or near the surface. Continuous Global Positioning System (CGPS) stations record such deformations to estimate seasonal and secular mass changes. We used 41 CGPS stations to construct a time series of coordinate changes, which are decomposed by empirical orthogonal functions (EOFs), in northeastern Tibet. The ...

Coseismic Gravity and Displacement Signatures Induced by the 2013 Okhotsk Mw8.3 Earthquake

In this study, Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) RL05 data from January 2003 to October 2014 were used to extract the coseismic gravity changes induced by the 24 May 2013 Okhotsk Mw8.3 deep-focus earthquake using the difference and least square fitting methods. The gravity changes obtained from GRACE data agreed well with those from dislocation theory in both magnitude and spatial...
